2021 Jeep Compass vs 2021 Jeep Cherokee

Serving Gouverneur, NY

The 2021 Compass and the 2021 Cherokee are part of the same automotive class, but the Cherokee is priced slightly above the Compass. In addition, the Cherokee is placed above the Compass in the current Jeep lineup. While both of these crossovers are impressive, you need to find the model that is the best-fit option for your needs and expectations.

Performance

The powertrain for the 2021 Compass is a Tigershark 2.4-liter engine that produces 180 horsepower. This engine is available with optional equipment like a Selec-Terrain 4×4 traction management system. The 2021 Cherokee, on the other hand, has an I-4 MultiAir Zero Evap, a 2.4-liter engine. It is designed with start-stop functionality and produces 180 horsepower. The Active Drive 4×4 system and the auto four-wheel drive drivetrain are standard in the Cherokee. The Cherokee is also available with a 271-horsepower, V6 engine at higher trim levels.

Appearance

These five-passenger crossover SUVs are stunningly similar at first glance, but their design traits are noticeable when you take a harder look. While both have a bar-accented grille that rounds over the nose, this grille is integrated with LED headlights that are underscored dramatically in the Compass. A similar design element top the Cherokee’s integrated headlights. Both models have thick molding and squared-off wheel wells. The Cherokee adds raised roof rails and tow hooks in select trim levels.

Features

Both of these Jeep models are well-equipped throughout their cabins. They have available or included equipment like a Uconnect 4C NAV system, a 7-inch or 8.4-inch display screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a wireless internet connection, and more. The Cherokee has a few standard safety features that are not included in the Compass. These standout features are active braking, adaptive cruise control, a full-speed collision sensor, and a few others.
